HYATT HOTELS Wellness Partnership with Headspace

In a unique tie-up, Hyatt Hotels and Headspace—a leader in mindfulness and meditation with nearly 60 million users, have announced a global well-being collaboration that will bring mindfulness exercises, guided meditations and sleep content to millions of employees, corporate, conferencing & events customers, and guests.

Headspace was created with one mission in mind: to improve the health and happiness of the world. Reaching users in 190 countries, Headspace remains a leader in mindfulness and mental training.

The collab is set to roll out at Hyatt-branded hotels around the world through 2020, and builds on Hyatt’s wellbeing strategy, which focuses on positively impacting how employees, corporate customers and guests ‘feel, fuel and function’ at work and in life.

The initiative will include a variety of mindfulness experiences including:

  • Events professionals have emphasized the importance of integrating wellness into meetings, and this new collaboration will give planners the option to infuse Headspace content and experiences into meetings packages. Additionally, Headspace content will power Hyatt’s new meditation experience for meeting and conference attendees, which is expected to launch later this year.
  • Guests will receive complimentary access to Headspace via in-room content, including short meditations for those with busy schedules, soothing sounds for a restful night’s sleep, expert guidance and more.
  • World of Hyatt members can receive exclusive Headspace member offers and will have access to meditation and mindfulness content during their stay via the World of Hyatt app.
  • Employees will be offered access to a complimentary subscription to Headspace as a means of supporting them on their own mental health and well-being journeys.

“Travelling for events can really put your routine off-balance and be stressful. If well-delivered, this conference wellness content will be a very welcome addition to Hyatt’s meetings offering.”

Sharon Levingston, Head of Events at The Events Authority.

Starting with the 2017 acquisitions of the Miraval and Exhale brands that joined Hyatt’s portfolio of more than 220 spa and wellness locations, Hyatt continues to deliver on a holistic commitment to well-being by extending its wellness-centered offerings beyond traditional hotel experiences.

“Well-being is a true realization of Hyatt’s purpose – we care for people so they can be their best,” said Mark Vondrasek, chief commercial officer, Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

“By teaming up with industry leaders like Headspace, we are better positioned to care for our guests and employees and help them prioritize their own well-being both during and in between stays at Hyatt hotels around the world,” Vondrasek added.

FAIRMONT SINGAPORE’S Urban Aquaponics Farm

Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford have launched a worlds-first urban aquaponics garden to meet rising guest demand for fresh quality produce and to support Singapore’s goal of producing 30% of its nutritional needs locally by 2030.

It’s the result of months of research, looking at the best possible way to meet demand for fresh food, optimise farming space, to save water and minimise waste.

Aquaponics combines aquaculture – the growing of fish and other aquatic life – with hydroponics, which is growing plants without soil. It is a sustainable, pesticide-free solution to traditional methods.

How does it work?

Aquaponics is a sustainable process which can produce ingredients for a full meal in just one system. Fish and vegetables grow together in an integrated system – fish waste is converted to nitrates which is used as fertiliser for the vegetables; while the plants filter and clean the water for the fish, lowering the consumption of water compared to conventional gardening.

It is expected that it will supply 30% of vegetable and 10% of fresh fish produce across the hotels every month.

Meetings & Event Space Capacity at Fairmont Singapore
The Raffles City Convention Centre (RCCC) offers more than 10,000 square metres (108,000 square feet) of prime, flexible function space, including 34 meeting rooms and three ballrooms.

Swissôtel The Stamford Meeting Rooms
The hotel’s suite of six meeting rooms comprises Clark Room, Ord Room, Blundell Room, Butterworth Room, Bonham Room and Fullerton Room.

Overlooking Singapore’ Padang playing fields, and blessed with natural light, each function room can accommodate up to 35 guests.

Raffles Singapore claims to offer guests unparalleled luxury and an exciting new chapter in the iconic property’s rich history and heritage.

“There are few hotels in the world whose names have become virtually synonymous with the cities in which they are located – and none more so than the Raffles Hotel in Singapore”, said Christian Westbeld, General Manager, Raffles Singapore.

The meticulous restoration has created a refreshed social haven, exquisite new suite categories, vibrant lifestyle experiences and exclusive dining concepts.

Discerning travellers can expect new levels of comfort and service, brought to life by the fabled Raffles Butlers.

Jeannette Ho, Vice President, Raffles Brand and Strategic Relationships, Raffles Hotels and Resorts, commented, “We are very pleased to be part of the reopening of the iconic Raffles Singapore officially returning to the city, refreshed, reimagined and revitalised.”

The revitalised Raffles Singapore offers luxurious all-suite accommodations, across nine distinct categories, and the total suite count increases from 103 suites to 115 suites.

At the refreshed Long Bar, travellers will continue to enjoy the hotel’s most famous cocktail, the original Singapore Sling, along with the timeless tradition of tossing peanut shells on the floor.

“We can’t wait to explore the rejuvenated Raffles Singapore”, says The Travel Authority Group’s Managing Director, Peter Hosper.

“The restoration of this iconic hotel certainly looks to have been done with extreme sensitivity to its past and with an eye firmly on the future”, he added.

First opened in 1887, and declared a National Monument a century later by the Singapore Government, Raffles Singapore has, through the years, gained international recognition as an oasis for the well-travelled.
